This is made do well, my 4.5 Yorkies went right in it. I ordered the M but could have done the S, he has alot of room in the M so it works fine.
Love this product, but the names and sizing are easily misunderstood. This "medium" is quite small and the door opening is so low that even my small 15 lb dog is too tall to easily enter the cave. He won't use it.
I have a 12 pound Chihuahua/rat terrier mix. I ordered the medium. He was reluctant to go in it for a few days but my trick was I unzipped the back so it made it feel more open. He immediately went in and each day I zipped up the back a little more until it was completely zipped back up. He spends a good part of the day in it. I'm very happy with it.
Our nearly thirteen year old mini schnauzer LOVES it. He sleeps in it all the time. Bonus that it rolls up for portability.
